Steam - Museum of the Great Western Railway
This award winning museum is located in the old railway works buildings in Swindon. Here you can learn why Swindon is famous for buiding the world's greatest steam locomotives and with interactive displays such as the child friendly simulated footplate ride this truely is an attaction to suit all ages.
Lydiard Park
The lovingly restored house lies in 260 acres of 18th Century parkland and was the ancestral home of the Viscounts Bolingbroke. The park welcomes visitors throughout the year where they can wander through the elegant ground floor apartments and view the fascinating 17th century painted window, which contains over a hundred pieces of glass exquisitely painted with flowers, figures and mythical creatures.
